I wrote about Shamima Begum on 15 Feb 2019:
What should happen is that she is stripped of UK citizenship and of any right to enter the country ever again. After that, who cares? She has never been – and will never be – a net asset to this country by any metric other than population growth.
So here’s the test – are you for or against the UK?
If you’re against the UK, you’ll want us to welcome her home and provde her with a quiet life, which we’ll happily pay for. If you’re for the UK, you’ll not want her back here under any circumstances, let alone on our dime.

On the face of it, this is what I thought should happen. And people across the land will be raising a glass tonight to this decision. But lets just keep our trousers on for a moment here. She has a right of appeal. Even if she doesn’t get legal aid out of our pockets, you can bet the lefty wingnuts and the ummah will crowdfund the best legal representation.
So expect someone like Cherie Blair or Michael Mansfield to step up to the plate on her behalf. This will run and run and end up at a court that finds in her favour and against the government.
At which point, everyone gets what they want. The lefties and the ummah are vindicated, Begum gets back into the country and onto the moneytree plantation, Sajid Javid gets to look tough and confound those who are suspicious of his ultimate loyalties, without actually achieving what he purportedly wanted to.
Everyone gets what they want except us, who end up getting shafted again.

Remember Shamina Begum?
Remember her having her British citizenship revoked?
Remember stupid right-wingers doing the victory dance like a teenage virgin spaffing his load when his first girlfriend accidentally brushes her tit against his arm – which is to say grossly prematurely?
The UK Court of Appeals ruled Thursday that Shamina Begum, 20, who joined ISIS at age 15 can return to the UK to appeal her revoked British citizenship before the Special Immigrant Appeals Commission (SIAC).
Stop doing the fucking victory dance at half-time & pick up your damned weapons!
I didn’t cover any of the subsequent wailing and gnashing of teeth from the usual suspects because I’d said my piece and couldn’t bear to dwell on the mountains of cant. (1) (2) (3) (4)
After the supreme court gave a final ruling against her in February of last year, perhaps celebrations could be forgiven - provided you hadn’t read the small print.
But the court did hold out the slender hope that Begum could have a final appeal against the decision to revoke her citizenship if she were ever to be in a position where she could properly instruct lawyers.
So we should still not be surprised to read today that there’s been another twist in the tale and the righteous lefty London lawyers are circling, ready to once again try flushing our sovereign control of the nation down the toilet of justice.
A spy working for the Canadian Intelligence services smuggled Shamima Begum into Syria and Britain later conspired to cover up Canada’s role in the operation, a new book has claimed.
Scotland Yard allegedly knew that Begum, and two of her friends from Bethnal Green, east London, were trafficked into Syria by a people smuggler working as a double agent for the Islamic State and Canada.
During the massive international search launched by the Metropolitan police to find the girls, Canada allegedly failed to inform the UK of its role in the affair.
Canada only admitted its involvement after it became fearful of being exposed, and then asked the British to cover up its role, the book claimed.
Tasnime Akunjee, the lawyer for the Begum family, has now called for an inquiry into what police and intelligence services knew about the activities of the Canadians.
…
The Begum family lawyer, Mr Akunjee, said: “Britain has lauded its efforts to stop Isis and the grooming of our children by spending millions of pounds on the Prevent programme and online monitoring.
"However, at the very same time we have been co-operating with a western ally, trading sensitive intelligence with them whilst they have effectively been nabbing British children and trafficking them across the Syrian border for delivery to Isis all in the name of intelligence-gathering.”
Begum, now 23, is currently living in a camp in northern Syria. She is due to renew her case to return to Britain at the Special Immigration Appeals Commission in November.
Yes - that’s right. Begum is getting another shot at the title in November 2022.
And from The Times:
Legal experts said that the revelations could have a major impact on Begum’s case when it returns to the Special Immigration Appeals Commission in November.
Ben Keith, a barrister at 5 St Andrew’s Hill Chambers in London specialising in extradition law, said that if the allegations could be proved they would be “compelling evidence in [Begum’s] favour”.
“In that case, Begum would almost definitely be classed as a trafficked person under the definition of the UN trafficking convention, which has been incorporated into UK law.
“Under that convention, Begum would be seen as a victim and would have considerable protections — it is likely that the view would be that what happened in Syria was not her fault.”
I’ll refer you to what I said when I first heard her excuses.
She’ll be back in England with a fresh blue passport before the 2024 election. Bet on it.
